Ross Island is few miles away from Port Blair. Once it was the administrative headquarter of the Britishers. When earthquake hit the Ross island in 1941 Britishers left this island and moved to Port Blair the capital Of Andaman And Nicobar Islands. Today when you visit this island the Ross island makes you nostalgic and takes you back in time when this was an administrative settlement for the Britishers. You can see the Britishers prosperous past in the rubble of the church, swimming pool and the chief commissioner's home, extensive gardens and magnificent ballrooms. You can also see the Cemetery & a small museum & Shops managed by the Indian Navy.
